This cool piece is made of 2 mm thick aluminum and keeps your tailgate securely open , even when it's loaded with luggage and bikes. No more tedious and dangerous holding of the heavy tailgate – this little helper makes it possible!
The tailgate stay automatically engages as soon as the tailgate is pushed up. This leaves both hands free and allows you to leave the tailgate open safely and without accidents. To close the tailgate, the stay only needs to be lifted briefly. This allows the gas spring cylinder to retract smoothly.
It's compatible with the Mercedes V-Class, Vito, and especially the Marco Polo models . But beware, folks: Not every model has the same gas struts. Therefore, before purchasing, you should measure the length of the thin damper tube (should be at least 265 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper tube (should be a maximum of 32 mm). This way, you can ensure that our tailgate prop is a perfect fit for your van.
And here's another tip: Our tailgate opener is only suitable for gas springs WITHOUT a protective cover!
Even though our tailgate prop is made of durable material, it can be damaged if excessive force is applied. So remember to unlock the prop before closing or moving the tailgate.
