Hey camper, check out our improved 040Parts tailgate prop, which has gotten even better since June! This cool gadget is made of 2 mm thick aluminum and keeps your tailgate safely open, even when it's loaded with tons of gear and bikes. No more struggling and dangerous holding of the heavy tailgate – this little helper makes it possible!
The tailgate prop locks into place automatically as soon as the lid is pushed up. So you have both hands free and can keep the lid safely and accident-free open. To close the tailgate, you just need to lift the prop briefly. That way, the gas spring cylinder can easily retract.
It's compatible with the Mercedes V-Class, Vito, and especially the Marco Polo models. But heads up: Not every model has the same gas springs. So before you buy, measure the length of the thin damper rod (should be at least 265 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper rod (should be max 32 mm). That way you can make sure our tailgate prop fits your van perfectly.
And here's a pro tip: Our tailgate prop is only suitable for gas springs WITHOUT protective sleeve!
Even though our tailgate prop is made of robust material, it can be damaged if too much force is applied. So remember to unlock the prop first before closing or moving the tailgate.
