The tailgate prop engages automatically as soon as the tailgate is pushed up. This leaves both hands free and allows you to leave the tailgate open safely and without accidents. To close the tailgate, the prop only needs to be lifted briefly. This allows the gas pressure spring cylinder to retract again without any problem.
It is compatible with VW Transporter or Multivan models . But be careful, folks: not every model has the same gas pressure springs. Therefore, before buying, you should measure the length of the thin damper tube (should be at least 214 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper tube should be a maximum of 32 mm. This way you can make sure that our tailgate prop fits your van perfectly.
And here's another tip: Our tailgate stand is not compatible with the VW California models (Ocean, Coast, Comfortline, Beach) . There is a separate version for these!
Even though our tailgate prop is made of sturdy material, it can be damaged if too much force is applied, so remember to unlock the part first before closing or moving the tailgate.
