Made from 3 mm thick aluminum, it keeps your tailgate securely open , even when loaded with luggage and bikes. No more tedious and dangerous holding of the heavy tailgate.
The tailgate stay automatically engages as soon as the tailgate is pushed up. This leaves both hands free and allows you to leave the tailgate open safely and without accidents. To close the tailgate, the stay only needs to be lifted briefly. This allows the gas spring cylinder to retract smoothly.
It's compatible with the VW T5, T6, T7 Transporter , or Multivan . But be careful: Not every model has the same gas springs. Therefore, before purchasing, you should measure the length of the thin damper tube (should be at least 295 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper tube (should be a maximum of 31 mm).
Our tailgate prop is not compatible with the VW California models (Ocean, Coast, Comfortline, and Beach) . A separate version is available for these models.
